Ashlee Simpson’s been enjoying the glory of her Broadway debut in “Chicago” all week, but  She may be rubbing her costars the wrong way. The “Autobiography” songstress has reportedly been displaying some very diva-like behavior, as evidenced by her opening night after-party antics. On Monday night Ashlee distanced herself from the rest of the cast by sitting in a “makeshift VIP section” in the Time Hotel rather than mingling with everyone else. One cast member grumbled, “It’s not like this is a club in LA.  She has to perform with us for two months.”

Ashlee Simpson was spotted imbibing on a retail romp in Studio City, California on 21st October’09. Joined by a friend, the “Pieces of Me” singer dropped by the local American Apparel store before then paying a visit to Urban Outfitters to load up on some new gear. Meanwhile, you can catch Ashlee on the small screen when “Melrose Place” returns with another episode called “Nightingale” on Tuesday at 8/7C on the CW.

Per the show’s Web site, an episode summary tells: “Still freaked out by the recent murder, the Melrose Place tenants try to resume some sense of a normal life. Ella (Katie Cassidy) learns from her new boss, Caleb (guest star Victor Webster, “Harper’s Island"), that her job could be in jeopardy due to a recent merger unless she brings in a huge client. Ella forces David (Shaun Sipos) to take her to a Brentwood party, where she hopes to land a big actor client, Jasper (guest star Ben Milliken). Still in desperate need of tuition money, Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) agrees to go out on another date in exchange for money, but inadvertently winds up at the same party as David and Ella. Detective Rodriguez (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez) questions Auggie (Colin Egglesfield), and Auggie flashes back to when he first met Sydney (Laura Leighton) in AA. Riley (Jessica Lucas) and Jonah (Michael Rady) view surveillance video of Violet (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) acting oddly and begin to think she’s hiding something.”
 

During a recent interview with Redbook Magazine Ashlee Simpson said she doesn’t envy her big sister Jessica Simpson one little bit. Aw, how kind.

When asked about her unlucky in love sis Ashlee said:

“She’s always saying, ‘Oh, I want a baby!’” and we bet Jessica’s really glad you shared that little tidbit with us.

But that’s not all, Ashlee then goes on to talk about motherhood and how much it’s changed her as a person:

“Your body is changing, and it’s such an amazing time to feel that connection. Being pregnant was the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. Except for the cupcakes.”

Meanwhile, we caught up with Ashlee and her son Bronx leaving a friends house in California yesterday afternoon.

Pete Wentz,  Ashlee Simpson with their son, Bronx, were spotted out at the park in Beverly Hills on 10th September’09. The happy trio played around in the sandbox and climbed around on the equipment, with all three smiling and laughing throughout their time together. Recently talking to Redbook about her role as a mother, Ashlee said, “Being a mom’s so empowering and incredible. I’m one of those people who believes that life brings things to you at a certain time for a certain reason, and if you just go with it, that’s where the best moments come from”. As for her experience with pregnancy, the “Melrose Place” actress tells, “The great thing about being pregnant is that you have nine months and it really does prepare you. Your body is changing, and it’s such an amazing time to feel that connection.”

Looking a tad flustered,  Ashlee Simpson was spotted going through security at LAX Airport earlier on 2nd September’09. The “Outta My Head” star is traveling just ahead of the season premiere of “Melrose Place” – which airs this Tuesday, September 8th at 9/8 c. And it sounds like Miss Simpson enjoys her “Melrose Place” character, Violet Foster.  In a recent interview she told, “It’s going to take a while for the audience to figure her out, which has been a lot of fun to play.”
Ashlee continues, “She does lots of things that leave you hanging. We’re still working on developing her. She does sneaky things that the other characters don’t know about, but the audience will know that she’s doing it.”
