Brittany Murphy Died From Toxic Mold Says Her Mother
Sharon Murphy, Brittany Murphy’s mom, claims that both Brittany and her husband Simon Monjack, died from the toxic mold that was growing in their house.
The coroner formally concluded that Brittany died from pneumonia, severe anemia, and the prescription drugs in her system, which was ultimately labeled as an accidental death.
Simon died five months later after he went into cardiac arrest. It was determined that he also died of pneumonia, which only strengthened Sharon’s hypothesis.
Sharon also said that her attorney pushed her to accept a settlement from the builders last year for the construction defect a/k/a the mold. Unfortunately, this also meant that she unknowingly waived her right to go after the builders for Brittany and Simon’s death.
The coroner was aware of Sharon’s hypothesis when he first reviewed the body; however he didn’t believe that the mold played a part in Brittany’s death. Also, Brittany’s house was tested for mold two months before her death. Simon received the results that the house was safe for inhabitation.
